Caddo Lake is a pretty cool park.  The site that Mrs Milddogs picked for night #2 was great. It was so cool backing onto the bayou, even if it lacked gators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had some rain in the night but nothing that woke us up.  We had discussed an earlier than usual for us departure so we could make a few stops and get to Sky Rim – oops, Sea Rim earlier in the day to enjoy warm beach weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the walk I stuck to the roads due to the overnight rain and the morning light drizzle.  I did not want another falling down episode.  Not the Michael Douglas kind, just the kind where you slip and twist mid air like a cat to limit damage.  Good thing I am so lithe! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a good survey of the park.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On exit, on time, we stopped at the dump station.  We were second in line and the people in front of us were just filling their water tank with the black tank rinsing hose.  Good on them, I guess.  Oddly, they were in the site we had the night before and it had water at the site.  Why take the good stuff when you can use the poop covered rinse hose??<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thing that was our third time dumping our small tanks on this trip.  So far, so good.  All the waste in the right spots.  Mrs Milddogs swears that one day, likely never, she will try the dump procedures.   We are still not the ones covered in feces!   At the end of this cleansing, I hooked up the aforementioned black tank flush hose and gave a good rinse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive was fine. One slow down due to construction.\u00a0 We stopped at a place called Danes in some city where we hoped to get Crawfish.\u00a0 Sadly, they only serve those after 1600 \ud83d\ude41\u00a0 I had a chicken po\u2019boy and Mrs Milddogs had some fish, shrimp and hushpuppies.\u00a0 Sad that there were no crawfish though.\u00a0 We ate in a nice park across the street.\u00a0 Our pico chairs are nice as you can set them up in seconds, especially now that I lubed them up in the off season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internet told us there was a place in Bridge City that you can get Crawfish.  So we stopped there to pick some up.  The craving must be satisfied.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did skip stopping in Beaumont, TX at a bakery. Sad face. We bypassed Beaumont cause the GPS told us to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest of the drive in to Sky Rim, crap, Sea Rim is like driving through Sarnia, ON\u2019s chemical valley about 20 times in a row as you pass through Prt Albert, TX and area.\u00a0 Oh how those smells brought back memories. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea Rim (yay!) is a nice little state park on the ocean.  It is hard to get into so we are just here the one night.  There is a couple from Ontario behind us and one from Quebec a few ahead of us.  Cell coverage is not stellar!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got checked in and parked.\u00a0 Mrs Milddogs then headed for the beach with her Crawfish in hand.\u00a0 She set up her picnic while Amy and I got ready to meet her on the beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post feast part 1, we wandered around on the beach and lamented not having put on sunscreen.\u00a0 I am sure we will not be as red as that guy over there. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea Rim (twice in a row) is famous for the beach, the views, various types of living things (no gators yet) including mosquitos.  Fortunately there is a healthy onshore breeze lowered the size of the attacking air force.  Still, they are here.  Mrs Milddogs got a dozen or so Noseeum bites yesterday (did I mention I did not bring our bug shelter?) so we tried to keep exposure to the mosquitos at a minimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner was crawfish round 2 for Mrs Milddogs and I finished my Po\u2019Boy. \u00a0 It takes a lot of work to consume crawfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did a bit of trimming on Amy.  Slowly making our way through that winter coat.  All fur collected and in the garbage.  I have an aunt that made a hat out of the fur trimmed from her (at the time) Old English Sheepdog.  That dog, Penelope Pushkin, was a great dog.  She came to live with us when I was in high school and we had much fun together.   As per my aunt, she was to formally referred to as \u201cPenelope Pushkin, doggity woggity, shake a tail,  bow wow, woof\u201d.  I think I got that right. Some dogs are precious.  Amy is precious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post dinner walk was out on the beach.\u00a0 We went right this time towards the setting sun.\u00a0 The fog had rolled in so it looked cool and was much cooler than the warm afternoon sun.\u00a0 We picked up some more garbage and found a few more shells.\u00a0 We did not pull mussels from these shells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, just waiting for enough internet to post this.  Pictures will have to wait for tomorrow.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do I keep mentioning Verizon?  I have a Verizon hot spot device (not yet factory unlocked) that I have an external MIMO antenna for.  That combo is pretty good at pulling in weak signals.  Better than our iPhones.  We do have the advantage in that while we are roaming, the phone picks whatever the strongest carrier that Telus has an agreement with.  So far that seems to be all of the big names.  But, if we can\u2019t get much of a signal, it doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dang, my crack got bigger!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The breeze is so nice blowing through our van.  The mosquitos we accidentally let in don\u2019t seem to mind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
