We woke up. I went for a walk. It was nice. I saw a single deer and that deer showed me where their friends were. So I had a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post walk and breakfast we got all packed up and hit the road. Stop at the dump station was uneventful. Still 100% faeces free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as we exited the park, Mrs Milddogs spotted a deer in the oncoming lane. Deer did not like the traffic in the oncoming lane so it chose our lane, then the wooded median. We were going about 5 km\/hr. Mrs Milddogs then spotted about 6 deer to our right in someone’s driveway. Garage door was open so I assume there is some sore of feeding happening. They stayed put and we drove off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 15 minutes north of Goose Island, Mrs Milddogs spotted a large alligator in a pond. The second one “we” have seen in the wild. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First stop was H-E-B in Cuero, TX. Some provisions later we continued north. Next destination, Buc-Ees. Our first one of the trip. It did not disappoint. We got some stuff including the $0.99 6 gallon soft drink. I’ll be peeing for a week. Perhaps not a good idea, we got some lunch. It was fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next stop, Terry Black’s BBQ in Lockhart, TX. We felt a bit odd going there as previous research had suggested Chishold Trail BBQ was were local people went. That is where we were going to go and suggested it to our friends<\/a>. They reported back that it was acceptable so we thought we should try something else. Terry Black’s was the best brisket we have had on this trip. Even better than Buc-Ees! I forgot to take pictures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last stop was McKinney State park. We got checked in and settled in our site. What? No pre-decoration? But they got here before us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found some bedazzled things on the ground. OK, I found one and Mrs Milddogs found one. I decided they should be on the van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-dinner we hung out with the folks from ourviewfromtheroad.ca<\/a> Dinner was the aforementioned Terry Black’s BBQ. Mmm. Dessert was a gingerbread pig Mrs Milddogs procured at the H-E-B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We parted ways with the rest of the cake. Icing is a curse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
