Hello rain. Not necessarily nice to see you again, but at least you mostly fell overnight and into the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a strong desire to avoid wet clothes, I deferred my morning walk until the rain subsided. To good news is that rain end coincided with approaching low tide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the walk, breakfast dessert was a tea biscuit from the Sandpiper. We got a few extras whilst we were there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All we Milddogs joined me on my morning walk and we headed out onto the beach. I carried Amy the 250 metres to the first nice sandbar as she seems to have a strong aversion to the beach. Once on the sandbar, and without collar, she ran around like a real dog running on a sandbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After we turned around at the end of the main sandbar, Amy headed back at full pace to the fort. She would get about 20 metres ahead turn around to make sure we were behind her and then keep going. She was so desperate to get back she even went through some of the shallow pools of water. For context, Amy is not at all a water dog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Milddogs escorted Amy up to the fort while I completed my walk barefoot (I have added this detail to lure in the foot fetish crowd to help my numbers, sorry for the bait and switch), along the beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Milddogs rejoined me and we spent plenty of minutes wandering along the beach. No mature beach glass was found, only the immature stuff. Was wonderful to just wander the beach. We saw plenty of oysters, periwinkles (apparently not related to Henry Winkler), leftovers from a seagull buffet and 12 golf balls. We picked up the golf balls to prevent the whales and seals from dying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rush. Earlier this month eldest offspring and I went to see Rush in Montreal. We had gone to the R40 tour. For that one we had tried to convince Dendog to come with us but that didn\u2019t work out. Sometimes you don\u2019t get a second chance. We took the opportunity to go to see the 50 Something tour. No second chances. We had a great time. I was happy that the crowd was really behind the new drummer (Anika Nilles). They did a great job selecting her as obviously there was no way you could replace Neil Peart. Good job, Rush and thanks for the memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bald eagle flew over the fort and we suspected it was checking out Amy. It landed in a tree about 300 metres away and stayed for a lot of minutes while I watched hoping to get a shot in flight. Turns out there were two eagles sitting in the same tree. Sadly, my aged Sony mega zoom camera would not focus on them so iPhone pictures will have to suffice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday we saw a Northern Harrier (perhaps a customer of the seagull buffet?) and plenty of Northern Gannets diving for food as the tide rolled in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I watched the movie \u201cBegonia\u201d over the last 5 evenings (it takes a while 20 minutes at a time especially when 20 minutes is spread over an hour or two). I did not know what to expect and it was exactly what I expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow we hope to fulfill more of our hopes and dreams as we venture off to see other parts of the maritime provinces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
