L’automne 2024: Day 8: Home: Last Boulangerie

Offspring #2 had been taking care of the house, and that included turning the pool heater back on so we could extend the season with all of the wonderful warm weather our home location had for the last week. So we were on a mission today. Get up, hit the road and enjoy the day by the pool. Your definition of hitting the road early may differ from ours. But we did break camp in less than 20 minutes after waking up. That meant I had to defer my morning walk until later in the day. I can do that. I’m not about to break my 1568 consecutive days streak!

We stopped at La Femme et le Boulanger in Beloeil, QC. Picked up some almandine, choclatine and a baguette. It appears to be a chain boulangerie but it was conveneintly close to the highway. Better yet, we departed highway 20 to get to the boulangerie just as the traffic hit a crawl on the 20. Post boulangerie we meandered off-highway for the next 10 km or so bypassing the traffic situation (construction with an accident in the single lane construction area). That was our only stop of the day. No pictures were taken.

We arrived home right around noon and set about unpacking the essentials and taking the cover off the pool. Oh, of course I made a baguette, viande et fromage sandwich for lunch!

Some stats:
-1453.8 total km
-14.41 l/100km average fuel economy
-74 km/hr average speed
-total drive time of 19:38 (hh:mm)
-approximately 209 litres of fuel consumed

Would we do this again? Yes. Except there is no way I will ever stay at Camping Tadoussac again! If I want to head that way again, I’ll pick some dates early and commit to the nice places to stay. I like seeing the whales and the boulangeries / patisseries!

Several pastries and baguettes were harmed in making this trip. Here is a recap of some of my favourite pictures.

I’m going to need to rest my face and eyeballs from the sun. My face is definitely sunburnt and I think my eyeballs are too. Is that possible?

Update on the “Walking Tour of Quebec City” app. We were able to get a refund.

Thanks for following along. Stayed tuned for the next adventure!
