Arizona 2024: Day 15: Tucson, AZ: It’s different
This is the start of week three. Wow.
We would like to thank all of the shooters and tryst participants for staying away last night as we had a wonderful night’s sleep. Must say, that little spot by the side of the road, replete with nature, was pretty darn good.
For the morning walk I did a bunch of the same trail and then on the way back crossed the road and did a small section to our west. I met a guy on the trail. He had a hoe (the garden variety) and was doing some trail maintenance. Said he was getting the trails ready for the monsoons. I asked if I should go left or right and he recommended left, which is the way I went yesterday.
Post breakfast, we hung out outside as we were not in a rush. Did some more reading with the eyes and then did a drone flight. I’m a bit hesitant with my drone cause its batteries are a little puffy and sometimes it does not like to listen to me. But, it was successful and we landed it safely.
Post departure we stopped at the Safeway in Vail for a few supplies and then drove the remaining 25 minutes to Tucson. We’ve gone the complete opposite of our last spot in that we are in an RV park surrounded by people. RV people. American RV people. But, there is a few pools and they have laundry and SHOWERS! As one of the few occupants of an RV less than 87 feet long (ok, might be an exaggeration, but just a bit) and also one of the few with less than 2 bathrooms in our RV, we get the showers all to ourselves.
Despite the temperature being just below 20C, Mrs Milddogs hit the pool. Once that adventure was complete, I hit the showers. Score: 7/10. Clean, hot water, private, but stalls a bit tiny.
We did some more relaxing and then headed out to pick up supper at Mi Nidito. A place that was recommended to us a few years back by CL. Thanks, CL. It was good. Mrs Milddogs ordered the President’s Platter (named cause Bill Clinton had all these things in 1999). We have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Pictures of food never work, but are better than billboards with pictures of food.
Dessert was the mandatory cake.
Amy had waited in the car while we went in and ordered. We came back to this.
Walk around the RVs after dinner and then ready to watch some BritBox and fall asleep. We are staying put for a few days to catch up on laundry and hopefully have some nice weather to enjoy pool time.
This is our campsite. We got the fire pit option cause it gives you more room. Our van is tiny compared to the monsters around us.
