Day 39: Penultimate: Sarnia, ON
Morning walk was delayed due to crappy sleep and knee being sore for some reason. Made it a short one over to Canatara Park on Lake Huron. Nice to see the lake. Growing up we lived about 1 km from the lake and probably took it for granted.
As I got nearer to the lake I picked up a familiar smell as the wind was coming from the south. Oh, the smell of Sarnia! I do not miss that smell.
We spent the day with second born child and doing chores at our host’s house. I rate the shower at this location a solid 9/10. Also called the insurance company. Will get windshield replaced when we get home as it is not affecting vision. Tomorrow we head home. Guess what? The forecast is for 70km/h westerly winds but thankfully should be at our stern most of the way.
I have declared my 3D printed iPhone holder a limited success but will likely just velcro a magsafe charger to the wall before the next trip.
We have really enjoyed this trip (significant understatement), but we are both ready to be home. Will have to set an alarm for the morning so we can be through Toronto, ON before the holiday traffic builds.
That’s about it for the update today. All the best to our good friends Mr and Mrs Pleasureway. Mrs retired back in December and Mr’s last day of regular work is tomorrow. Let the good times roll! We look forward to sharing a whisky drink. I saved just a few ounces of the Texas Rye Whisky for the occasion.
Unsure if there will be an update tomorrow. We have a lot of work to clean out the van and do some maintenance and blah blah blah!
Drive on!
No map updates, the van did not move.
